Horizon

Horizon is the integrated library system (ILS) used by Parkland Regional Library to provide electronic and online access to the system-wide catalogue.

The entire Horizon manual is 103 pages. The table of contents is a separate document.

In addition to the manual, Parkland has created guides and help sheets for many common procedures:

If you wish to conduct an inventory of your library, using Horizon, you will need to follow the Horizon Inventory procedures. Contact your consultant before undertaking an inventory for guidance on the necessary preparations.

Generating Statistics and Reports

The Horizon database tracks usage statistics, holdings information, and budget data. Most reports can be accessed online using the Web Reporter module.

If a desired report is not available in Web Reporter, you may need to use the AdHoc Report module of Horizon. You need to be logged into Horizon as a Supervisor (not Circ) to access the AdHoc reports. The first time you save an AdHoc report on your computer, you will need to specify where to save the file using the following instructions: Save Horizon AdHoc Reports.

If you are unable to find a desired report in Web Reporter or in the Horizon AdHoc module, contact Sandie at 1-800-567-9024 or at helpdesk@prl.ab.ca
