Horizon is the integrated library system (ILS) used by Parkland Regional Library to provide electronic and online access to the system-wide catalogue.
- Using PC Reliance (if you are unable to connect to the Horizon server)
Search the online catalogue now!
The entire Horizon manual is not currently available in one file. Below is the link to the main body of the manual, plus a link to the table of contents. NOTE: an updated version of this manual is currently being worked on.
In addition to the manual, you can watch our video tutorial series for a basic introduction to common Horizon tasks. You can also find guides and help sheets for many procedures in the following categories:
- Multi-Set Rules - updated February 4, 2012
- Barcode Linking
- Borrower Record, PUBLICS (Btypes/Bstats) - updated November 19, 2012
- Borrower Record, SCHOOLS (Btypes/Bstats)
- Borrowers - Differences between borrower types
- CNIB material in Horizon
- Item Record (Itypes/Collections) - updated March 26, 2014
- Request Pull List
- Requesting Items Online
Contact your consultant before undertaking an inventory for guidance on the necessary preparations.

The Horizon database tracks usage statistics, holdings information, and budget data. Most reports can be accessed online using the Web Reporter module.

Ad Hoc Reports
If a desired report is not available in Web Reporter, you may need to use the AdHoc Report module of Horizon. You need to be logged into Horizon as a Supervisor (not Circ) to access the AdHoc reports. The first time you save an AdHoc report on your computer, you will need to specify where to save the file using the following instructions: Save Horizon AdHoc Reports .
If you are unable to find a desired report in Web Reporter or in the Horizon AdHoc module, contact Sandie at 1-800-567-9024 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
